My sister and I took a class in stained glass Sunday 19th July with Kathleen. It was the first time for both of us to try this and we really enjoyed it. Kathleen was very patient with both of us and took the time to fully explain and demonstrate each step of the technique. We each went home with a completed stained glass butterfly. Will definitely be recommending this class.

  2. I would be very grateful if you could put me on your mailing list please.

  3. Just finished 4 week Wood Sculpting with Conleth Gent (thanks Neil), it was brilliant. Con has lots of patience and a great teacher. I’ve signed up for the next one, thanks Con. Eve

  4. I am starting a Nuno Felting 5 week course with Joanna Kidney and I am really looking forward to it. I have completed a course with Joanna before and it was very enjoyable. This will be my first course in The school house of art and I hope it will not be my last .

  5. I have just had an amazing weekend with Kathleen Argenti-Cummins in the Old School House she is a great teacher and I learnt so much about the art of Stain Glass and picked up so many tips and I got to make a lovely sun catcher panel thank you Deirdre

  6. Hi! Neil, Thanks for the life practice session last Thursday, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it helped me rediscover some of the buried skills from 30 years ago. The atmosphere and ambience is so friendly and relaxing, I learned so much from the rest of the group. I have no hesitation in recommending “Schoolhouse for art”. Thanks, “I’ll be back”. Niall.

  7. Hi Neil,

Looking for some advice re finding someone to mount/display a sculptural textile piece for exhibition.

Can your or one of your teachers recommend someone?

    Thank you

  8. Hi there
Myself and my family enjoyed your Art Festival very much. Could you please put me on your mailing list. Thanks, Brenda

  9. had a fantastic workshop with David on Saturday – portrait drawing in charcoal and burnt cork. I learned how to make charcoal & burn my corks!
the class was really well structured – demo at the start and discussion at the end . in between David was really attentive to all of us and was very encouraging. thanks

  10. Is it possible to do the bookbinding course on another day. I work on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons but would love to do this course

  11. Hi, I have just finished a one day workshop with Sahoko Blake. I found it to be extremely informative and inspiring as well as very challenging. I can’t wait to practice my life drawing. Thank you Sahoko and thanks to Neil Condron for a fabulous studio.

  12. Hi, I have just completed “Bookbinding: Fundamentals” – a 4 week course on Wednesday afternoons with the lovely (and more importantly excellent teacher) Laurie le Grand. I am delighted to say I would highly recommend it to all. If you want to make note books, photo books, albums, scrap books or even recover old books this is where you can learn how to do it. We learnt so much about traditional bookbinding methods, completed 2 book projects and now we all want to come back for a one day workshop to practice our skills! Facilities are great it’s a warm, cosy, comfortable space and you are made to feel most welcome too. Get booking now!

  13. Hi, do you think you will be offering childrens art classes in the near future? Looking for a class for my eleven year old daughter.

    • Hi Nessa thanks for your enquiry. Unfortunately we have no classes for your daughter’s age group running at the moment however we are currently planning a variety of children’s classes for easter and the summer. I’ll keep you posted. Neil

  14. I am really enjoying the Thursday evening class. The three hour block means that I have uninterrupted creativity and this sustained concentration has been feeding into the rest of my week. I find that I have begun to be more creative at home and at college.
It’s wonderful to have the freedom to work on observational drawing as well as mixing in more abstract approaches. I can see the progression from week to week and the environment at the School House is like a safe haven and conducive to drawing and painting. Dave is a very encouraging teacher and is always interested in hearing about my work, talking about my work is good for my own personal development and good practice for Crits!!!

  15. I thoroughly enjoy Dave Flynn’s art classes at the School House Art Centre in Enniskerry village – the centre itself is a warm and comfortable space with a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Dave is an excellent teacher, who encourages and supports his students to find a
personal style and authentic expression in their work. His classes are also enriched by his extensive knowledge of art history and art techniques.
    Really enjoyable and rewarding class.

  16. I recently discovered the Schoolhouse for Art and have taken three courses with the wonderful Yanny Petters. I must say that I have truly enjoyed her courses as she is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with; Yanny provides so much background information and gives students guidance and positive feedback that it makes them want to come back for more. Another bonus is the ease of getting to the Schoolhouse; commuting from north of Drogheda is a distance, but getting to and from Enniskerry is very easy as it is just off the motorway so not a difficult task.

The Schoolhouse in general has a lovely atmosphere and always a welcoming place for artists, students and those of us who are beginners and just want to try our hand at art!

  17. I did stage 1 sculpture with Paul and it was brilliant. Nervous and tense to start but after the first week relaxed and sculpted my first head. Now doing stage 2, with a live model, and thoroughly enjoying it. Jen is a great model and the other ‘sculptors’ are fun to work alongside. Paul is a great teacher, very, very patient, always a smile on his face and makes a lovely cuppa !!! Eve Lynch

  18. I did the pastel workshop with Neil recently and had a really enjoyable day. We learned a lot in a very relaxed way, it was a lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend it – a de-stress day and I will definitely be back! Caroline Flood.

  19. just did Neils pastels workshop last saturday. what a great day
…neil had a lovely way of teaching and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. great setting…therapy for the soul! so much so I have just booked another workshop. Margaret Joyce
