Painting the bathroom!" | Kayla Martell

ABOUT THIS COURSE

In this 2-day workshop, we’re going to explore how to capture the magic of porcelain + whites! Do you ever hear yourself describing white objects in terms of “greys”? Then this is the course for you! Learn to see whites as hues (grey is not a colour!), get comfortable pushing the darks in white objects, and know how to get that brilliant highlight we love to see that really says “porcelain” to us.

In learning about whites and porcelain, we’ll paint my bathroom sink. It’s a great chance to discuss white, metal, tiles, and textures. And how to turn something “boring” to something magical. This workshop is about loving to paint, and capturing the vibrancy and beauty of light using oils. Every day you’ll be painting and receive ongoing feedback on your progress, and for those attending online, a procreate video feedback at the end of the day.

Topics we’ll cover;

Colour mixing (and whites specifically)
Learning to push yourself to see more — more colour, more temperature, more vibrancy!
DrawingModelling
Light temperature
Brush styling and weight
