ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

SEPT 14th: Beginners classes will consist of making a leather key ring and a passport wallet. This will give a good basic understanding of the tools and techniques in making small leather goods.

SEPT 28th: This workshop will involve making a willow card wallet with a custom tooled front and a full grain veg tan belt. The willow card wallet will give an understanding of building more complex and functional leather wallets. For the custom tooled front we will be using new tools and techniques to carve and bevel basic images on to veg tan leather

Materials needed

All materials will be provided and included in the price of the workshop

(You may wish to dress accordingly as you will be using dyes)

About the Tutor

Robin hails from the lush hills of Wicklow, Ireland, where he has honed his skills as a leather craftsman. His affinity for traditional Irish craftsmanship has been the driving force behind his chosen career. 

In 2018, Robin embarked on his leatherworking journey with a course in Dublin. Since then, he has skillfully expanded his repertoire to include a range of leather items such as belts, wallets, purses, bracelets, and watch straps. Operating from his workshop in Wicklow, Robin manages both an online store and a presence at local markets.

Robin's dedication to quality is evident in his choice of materials. He imports premium full grain leather from renowned global tanneries. Each piece is meticulously designed, cut, hand-stitched, and finished by Robin, ensuring longevity and a unique character that deepens with age.

Through his work, Robin not only crafts functional leather goods but also contributes to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship, creating products that stand as a testament to time-honored skills and enduring beauty.
