ABOUT THIS COURSE

In this workshop you will learn how to create a screen printed design using a paper stencil and a reduction stencil. No experience is required and most supplies are provided.  

Screen printing is also referred to as silk screen printing or serigraphy. During the workshop you will learn how to print your own designs using two different screen printing stencils: Paper and reduction. You will become familiar with the printing equipment, stencil making, how to prepare your design for printing, registering your colours and successful printing techniques.
The printing set up we use can be replicated in your studio or at home on the kitchen table. For a modest financial out lay you can set up for screen printing at home.

About Linda

The focal point of my art career for over two decades has been fine art screen printing. I pioneered the use of a non-toxic screen printing process using materials that are not harmful to the environment and one's health. I attend the National College of Art in Dublin and received a master’s degree (MFA) in the USA.

The imagery in my work is a journey through my life experiences. The style and color palette I've used has changed over the years. In earlier years black and white imagery predominated, but this limited color palette has morphed into an expressionistic use of color.

I tend to work in series of images related to a theme and the images express my feelings about a broad range of events that continue to shape my life.

I spend my year living between in the U.S and Ireland. I have taught art and screen printing in second and third level education institutes and run independent screen printing workshops. I continue to pursue my own work in Marlborough Studios when in Dublin and Anderson Artists Studio in the US.
